The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) is the world’s largest anti-fraud organization and premier provider of anti-fraud training and education. With over 75,000 members world-wide, the ACFE is reducing business fraud and inspiring public confidence in the integrity and objectivity within the profession.

Certified Fraud Examiner’s examine data and records to detect and trace fraudulent transactions as well as interview suspects to obtain information and confessions. They write investigation reports and advise clients as to their findings. CFEs have been called as expert witnesses to testify at trial and understand the law as it relates to fraud and fraud investigations. CFEs on six continents have investigated more than 1 million suspected cases of civil and criminal fraud.

The ACFE Fraud Conference traditionally hosts the foremost experts in the anti-fraud field. These leaders share their insights and address the key anti-fraud issues relevant to today’s investigators.

According to the 2016 Report to the Nations on Occupational Fraud and Abuse:

  • The Typical Organization loses an estimated 5% of their annual revenues to fraud.
  • The median loss from a single case of occupational fraud in Canada is $154,000 USD
  • More than 23% of occupational fraud cases resulted in a loss of at least $1 million USD
  • Victim organizations that lacked anti-fraud controls suffered greater MEDIAN losses—in fact twice as MUCH.
